Sneaky Pie
I have an ongoing love affair with all things pumpkin. I count down the days to when Einstein has pumpkin bagels with pumpkin smear....I order the "gotta have it" size of pumpkin icecream at Coldstone .....you get the point. Our friends brought us a plate of leftover pumpkin pie yesterday which I had every intention of sharing with my family. Instead I snuck bites throughout the day instead of sitting down with a fork and a plate like normal people. This allowed me to minimize the amounts I had to share with my kids. If I sat down with some, there goes the whole thing.....because EVERYONE would want some. So after one day this is what we are dealing with people. I ate three quarters of a pie today....one bite at a time.

Love notes
Amy is in kindergarten this year. She has since started to read and write.....I'm not sure which words she can spell correctly for certain but one thing she does get right is the word LOVE. Consquently, we have LOVE notes all over our house. I periodically take them down and save them in a big black bin outside but tonight after everyone was tucked in I looked around and realized how sweet it is. All you need is LOVE. If you're short on love notes let me know and I'll send some your way.
Temples and Trains
For the Birds
After indulging on multiple helpings of Thanksgiving linner (lunch/dinner) it was time for a walk. We took the kids down to the lake to feed the ducks. The ducks were nowhere to be found but the seagulls were more than happy to fill in and give us an authentic Alfred Hitchcock experience. Jamison and Greg opted out of the adventure to watch football take a nap
. They totally missed out.

Zoo pass renewal
We've been without zoo passes for a year and a half......and I was feeling a little guilty that Becca was getting slighted from her zoo experiences so we just renewed. I took the kids last Friday for Veteran's day. Our first stop is always the Gorilla statue....or as I call it in my mind, "nipples." The kids always point them out and it just get's awkward ....
We made the usual rounds but the highlight is always the hot chocolate. Sure there's baby elephants, lions 3 feet away, lorakeets that poo on you, and yet the hot chocolate trumps it all. I suppose it would be cheaper to stay at home and have hot chocolate there but it's all about the ambiance right?
Nipples- check
Foot massage chairs- check
lilypads- check
hot chocolate- check
What....there were animals there? Seriously.
