Shark Encounter

No matter how many times I go through this exhibit, I am always amazed at how cool it is.

Ibis crossing at Sea World

Thursday we ventured off to Sea World with cousins. My Aunt was in town and got a "behind the scenes tour" due to her sweet "hookups" from working at Safari West in Santa Rosa. This included feeding a cool looking Ibis.....the kids loved it. I was surprised at how much personality the bird had. Who knew?

Old McDonald had a farm....

The other evening Jamison decided to put on a bunny costume which my mother had made for me when I was his age. It's one of those things that you always look at in the closet and think, "why are we carrying this thing around?" But alas.....it has finally been put to good use. Amy wanted in on the action as well so she found her cow costume which Lynn had picked up at a drugstore on sale after Halloween. Who doesn't need a cow costume? Both kids bounced around happy as could be.

Winter Pool Day

Yesterday Amy finally talked me into going to the pool.....Jamison of course didn't think it was such a great idea....mostly because it wasn't his idea to begin with. At any rate, as soon as we sent "Mr. my idea is the best" off to school Amy and I headed for the pool. She probably could have been happy swimming around all day.

Sandcrabs and Seals

Saturday we decided to give our kids a little taste of the marine life nearby. Jamison was relieved that he actually could hold a hermit crab without it pinching off his finger and both kids thought the seals were "so cuuute" mostly since it was "pupping" season so all the babies were out. I was just in awe at the fact that I saw about 8 older women get out of the water after swimming without a wetsuit in the cove. I even commented to one of them how insane it was and she just said you get used to it after doing it every day. Yeah, I am not so sure about that. The water had to be around 55 degrees. I don't care who you are but you DON'T get used to that. I think they were aliens.

January Summer

We are in the swings of our typical two week January summer weather here and so we are taking serious advantage of it. Last week Amy was distraught that all of her friends were busy and she couldn't play with them so I suggested riding bikes. Greg came home for lunch in time to soak up some sun as well while Amy put on a show for us. I think the tea party with Dad in the driveway topped it off.
