San Diego Mormon Battalion

A couple of weeks ago we picked Greg up at the airport and afterwards we headed over to the Mormon Battlion in Old Town. I was amazed by the recent remodel. The kids were enthralled by the presentation and they got to pan for gold afterwards which Jamison and Amy were thrilled about. They keep their prized gold nuggets in a baggy in a "safe" place.

California Adventure

We went to California Adventure on our first day at Disneyland.  Jamison's favorite was the Grizzly Rapids, Amy's was the carosel of sea creatures and Greg's and my favorite was Soarin California.  The ferris wheel gave all of us the heebie jeebies.  Did you know there are two lines....one of which puts you on the pod that swings in and out as the ferris wheel turns.  It looks like fun and games until you get two adults and three small kids in it and you have to do the full two rotations.  I was convinced I was going to have to put them in therapy afterwards but so far they're ok.  I still feel like I would better enjoy California Adventure if I had a tour guide....too many hidden gems.

Disneyland

We finally took the kids to Disneyland. We had an absolute blast. I think we only had one minor meltdown.....much better than our last experience.

A couple of weeks ago we headed up to Palomar mountain to take advantage of the snowfall over the weekend. The kids had a blast and thanks to some friends we stayed for quite a while because we were wearing "proper" snow gear....or at least the kids were. Totally worth playing hooky from school.
