Pomegranate Season!

I still have a bag full of frozen pomegranate juice in my freezer from last year, with the intention of making pomegranate jelly by now yet, another season has come so quickly......there's more! Jamison and Amy love eating the seeds.....that is after I make them remove any clothing we actually care about because as of yet, we have not found any stain remover strong enough for pomegranate juice. My in-laws have a fabulous pomegranate tree that has been plentiful for the past several years and we love it.

Greg is 35!

I think the most excited people in our family when it comes to any birthday are our kids. Birthday= cake, ice cream etc. So thanks to our cute kids, birthdays are still filled with excitement....well...for them. Greg on the other hand, not so excited about turning 35. When we're 60 we'll look back and think 35 was just the ripe age of a whipper snapper but to him it means, closer to 40 and well.....his knees already hurt. So, to the delight of our children we had another cake with candles lit by the birthday boy himself....and man....was he excited. I think Amy took the candles out to lick them before they were even blown out.

We love cousins!

We'd like to think that San Diego is the best place to live because it affords us the best opportunity for family to come visit us instead of us flying all over to see them. So this week we were so excited to have Sam and Drew come out from Colorado. Jamison and Amy LOVE their cousins and get so excited on their pending arrival. Becca....well she smiles for anyone who is willing to feed or hold her.

Zip line is back in business!

The zip line at the Davis' has always been a favorite.....until it was no longer zipping. Fortunately, Jamison and Amy have a Grandfather who is genuinely concerned for the happiness and well being and made it a priority yesterday to fix the zip line...especially since Samantha and Drew were out visiting from Colorado. What would visiting the grandparents be without a functioning zip line? So today, even in the blustery afternoon, Jamison and Amy adorned their pumpkin beanies and happily zipped along.

Cookie decorating at the Parkers

Our sweet friends had the kids over last week to indulge in some serious cookie decorating. I don't think I've ever seen the kids' eyes so wide as I said they could put whatever they wanted on it. Frankly I am surprised their little tummies kept it down.

The boys at the BYU game

On Saturday Greg took Jamison and met up with some friends at the BYU vs. San Diego State game. I took it for the team and stayed home with the girls.....that and the fact I didn't want to pay $15 for a ticket for a three year old who was going to tell me that it was too loud and she wanted to go home the whole time.  Can you tell it has happened before?  So we stayed home and watched Peter Pan and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.   BYU won and the boys loaded up on some healthy stadium food.  Jamison was in heaven.

Pumpkin craze

I love everything pumpkin....I always have. Not so much that I'd change my favorite color from green to orange but lets just say I have a healthy supply of canned pumpkin in my food storage. So imagine how excited I got when I found a crochet pattern for the cutest pumpkin beanie ever. Ok....the cute model was just as delicious so put them together and you've got something seriously special.

Good times at Bates

Our annual Bates Nut Farm trip arrived quickly this year. It was Jamison's third time riding his favorite pony Star and maybe Amy will remember hers.....although she's not quite as sentimental. Yes....we even found some pumpkins to suit our needs and I got a little souvenir to bring home with me. A nice bee sting...so even though my hand and arm are completely swollen I would still say it was worth it:)

Costume Box Surprise

Recently my Aunt Ann gave my Mom a box of costumes she made for her own kids when they were little. When we went over to visit the box made its debut and was a huge hit. Jamison's favorite was the Aladdin costume and Amy's was the pioneer dress. Lots of smiles ensued.

A San Diego Saturday

On Saturday we got a late start to our morning and decided to jump in the car for a drive. It lead us to Mt. Soledad and then to Torrey Pines beach. It was a gorgeous clear day. Greg and the kids ended up swimming in their clothes at the beach. I suppose I need to throw some bathing suits in the "just in case" bag in the back of the car.
