First day of school

Jamison woke up around 6:15 on his first day of school. By the time I came down around 7 he was completely dressed and had packed his own lunch. Now if every morning was going to be like this my job would be sweet but all good things must come to an end so I'll ride this wave while it lasts:) Jamison was excited to go to his new class in Mrs. Dastrup's room and surprisingly enough exhibited signs of being too cool to have me there. I was certain I had a few more years before the "cool factor" manifested it's ugly head but apparently it started earlier:( His teacher is wonderful! When he came home I asked him how his day was and if he liked his teacher. He said that when some people were being really bad she didn't yell at them. I then asked what she did to remedy the problem to which he replied, "she just talked to them nicely." Sweet kid. I imagine this observation is a result of his kindergarten teacher who retired a year too late last year and not because of my parenting skills which are stellar. Great start to the school year!

Hope she's nicer than last year's teacher ;) Even though we really liked Mrs. H...

Don't you love elementary school classrooms? They just make me happy...all those colors and clutter. Everything and anything can be turned into a character, letters, numbers, shapes. No wonder they are excited to go back to school. Hope it lasts...
